A new record set by Bitcoin on Saturday, March 13, on the trading markets, which reached the value of 60,790.56 USD.

Thus, Bitcoin, the most valuable virtual currency in the world at the moment, has reached a new record. The maximum value it had initially reached was $ 58,354.14, a value that had been recorded on February 21, 2021.

The cryptocurrency has seen a huge increase lately since the beginning of 2021. More precisely, since January 4, when trading at a value of $ 27,734, Bitcoin has increased by 119.2%, exceeding several technical thresholds set by analysts. The currency also grew by about 570% in the last 12 months.

At the same time, the total market value (market capitalization) of Bitcoin exceeded this week for the second time the value of 1 trillion US dollars. This value had been exceeded for the first time on 19 February.

The recent sustained growth is explained by analysts by several factors, the most important of which is the market entry of several institutional investors, such as Tesla, which recently acquired Bitcoin worth about $ 1.5 billion. The acquisition is part of Tesla’s plan to accept the cryptocurrency as a means of payment from its customers.

Also, amid growing customer demand to invest in Bitcoin, representatives of the US bank Goldman Sachs stated this week that they are exploring ways to serve those customers, but also respecting the legal regulations applicable to the bank. Goldman Sachs recently relaunched a cryptocurrency trading service, along with the activity trading futures contracts on Bitcoin and non-deliverable forwards.
